Hi Moving Diaries,

I’m gearing up to retire pretty soon and plan to work part-time just to keep myself occupied and avoid dipping into our 401K (retirement account) or Social Security yet – we don’t have many bills to worry about. We’re doing okay financially, so I want to retire before I’m too old to enjoy it. I get this feeling that my wife feels a bit jealous though. I’m 2.5 years older than her, and at 65, I can sign up for Medicare (health insurance for seniors) now. I want to be understanding towards her, but I also don’t want to feel bad for taking the leap before she can. I figure this might be a common issue, but I’m not really sure. Anyone else in the same boat?

Cheers,
RetiringSoon
