The danger happens when pencil (keyboard) pushers rush and cut corners to make their “goals” and compromise safety. When ya get a poorly plated/coated part and that loser supervisor pushes the tech to “just install”. Or worse yet the tech has zero clue because he has zero experience.

Very simple latest engines like Pratt and Whitney airbus NEO engines were a complete disaster when they came out. Spirit right now has 40 Aircraft grounded because of the issue. DEI is to blame here for the most part. But some airlines do want to still make money so they are building these facilities to overhaul these brand new engines instead of waiting 330 days per engine with the manufacturer. Companies caring about their ESG score and putting focus on DEI agenda really cuts into safety aspect of the operation on every level.

They need to design new planes instead of just upgrading the engines .

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just buy a new engine ?

Remember when capitalism meant competition and driving down prices? Yeah well these companies don’t. 30 thousand for a fan blade, record profits, and CEO bonus pay of 35 million shouldn’t all exist within the same company. I’m convinced at least 50 cents of every dollar spent by the consumer goes to excess profit and executive pay. No person is worth 30 million a year I don’t care what they do. Especially when their company kills hundreds of people, produces products that don’t work or fall apart, and go waaaaaaay over budget. I’m looking at you Beoing.

back in the 70s and 80s they had a company called Denalko They were selling engine parts and other structural plane parts that they have been refurbishing from older planes and selling them as new anybody who remembers those years remembers a lot of crashes. Many many planes went down due to faulty parts, it wouldn’t surprise me if they were doing the same thing again 60 minutes did a big story on it and I know all of this because my grandmother was one of the receptionist.

You can't get parts because of all the sanctions United States is throwing around all over the planet. Your own government screwed you

So we have hard to produce parts to be more fuel efficient, but because of the backlog, it forces them to keep running older machines. Sounds completely logical…

With all that being said, this means that the customer will pay higher for a ticket. The cost always gets past down to the customer. I don’t invest in airlines too risky.

In light of the impending recession and the fact that inflation is still far higher than the Fed's 2% target, several of the most prominent market analysts have been expressing their views on how terrible they believe the next downturn will be and how far stocks may have to fall. I need advice on what investments to make because I'm attempting to create a portfolio for my children that will at least be $850k in value.

These companies are incompetent. They need to shave down engine complexity with improved designs and shave down manufacturing times and cost to be more competitive and meet demand. Additionally if they are having supply issues not being able to get parts then they need to make those parts in house. If a company like Space X took over this industry they would have much better and cheaper engines produced much faster. Just look at how much they revolutionized rocket engines and space flight costs.

"Supply Chain Issues" is corporate speak for "We outsourced our manufacturing overseas, laid off all our American workers, and are now dealing with the consequences of that."

Sometimes i wonder why these pieces of rusty metals have to be that expensive, yet when you drive around the country you come across abandoned and decaying former expensive planes in junkyards heavily rusted and covered in green mold . What a waste

So, as usual, the environmental concerns are causing them to push engines past their point of failure. Think this is going to end well?
