US-China competition: Huawei to introduce new chip to rival Nvidia in China

US-China competition: Huawei to introduce new chip to rival Nvidia in China

China probably has engineers the equivalent of the whole US population. While US universities are more concerned about gender diversity issues.
And we are surprised China is advancing so quickly!

US can increase its manufacturing but their cost is too high to export, they can only sell domestically and increase tariffs for imported chips to protect their manufacturing. American consumers will be the biggest looser! Nice government 🤣🤣

This guy is vested in the Cold War / trade war. He is too biased to speak on this.

Sure. Keep doubting. But even if they don't do it this round, sooner or later, they will. Why? Because they are united and we are not. Because they spend their money on the people, while we subsidize the rich and powerful elites (aka donors) with our tax dollars. Because they invest in the future, while we start proxy wars, enable genocide, instigate regime change, maintain military bases everywhere, and lecture everyone about freedom and democracy when we don't even practice it ourselves. Small wonder why people around the world hate us Americans.

China will not be stopped by sanctions, intimidation or threats. They have more intelligent people than any country on the planet. They're also the only superpower that has never invaded another country. The invest in people and growth, not weapons and war.

    Good for everyone.

    Not entirely true.
The billions in subsidies by US don't prevent Huawei – Smic from increasing his position in the market, as you can see on Inside China Budiness, april 8, june 3.

Chips are not made by the gods. As far as this so called "chip war", who coined this and who started this? It is no longer a war. The US has already lost.

Sanctions will push for government industry collaboration. And with Russia also.

It's an import substitution effort. But they twisted the fact that ti wants to attack existing suppliers.

The Chinese are not in competition with anyone, they are simply moving forward.
But the West with its sick and absurd thinking does not want anyone to advance.

How is this even US-China competition? Nvidia is a Taiwanese company and only designs the chips. Manufacturing is in Taiwan. The US produces nothing at all, and is not even a prime market for the chips.

US government has made Huawei a technological monster. Now Huawei is competing with many US technology companies like Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia, Google, Tesla, Cisco, etc. Huawei has also developed its own ERP and database systems that rival Oracle and SAP.

There hasn't been any serious problem between China and Taiwan until America comes into the pictures ask yourself why is that.

It's ironic that Trump has put the cat out but Democrats can't think of a way to improve the lives of Americans but is making them pay more for everything…

The US is an empty barrel; it looks big and only makes noise.

not enough power in USA to run AI computer farms. USA is so under invested in infrastruture.

As Chinese I wonder besides our country China, who uses Huawei chips besides our country it own , what makes western media took so serious about this issue since AI chips sanctioned to our country

Nobody is going to buy the chips made in the US. They cost 10x more than the ones made in Taiwan and Korea.

Why would you have a history professor commenting on semiconductor chips? This is like listening to a cpa talk about medicine ?

The US decoupling from China/Russia is why the US and the collective West are collapsing and China/Russia are rising, karma

What USA did to Huawei is a blessing in disguise for China.

If we are hearing about it nvidia knew months ago … who do u think Blackwell announcement was for 😂😂😂😂😂

Wait for the next one 💯💯💯😍🖤🖤🚀

US – We're not selling chips to you anymore.
China – Why ? We've been buying chips from you for years.
US – We are going to hobble you. We want to damage your economy.
China – Okay. We'll build our own chips then.

You see how this works ? In order to participate in free exchange of goods, there needs to be a exchange of co-operation.
USA broke that co-operation and wants to hobble China's economy. Hence America is acting in Bad faith.

Unless and until sanctions on lithography are terminated, China is 3 generations behind in node level manufacturing and counting. ASML just announced their next level tech which is expected to be the new bleeding edge standard by 2027. Huawei meanwhile is attempting to innovate past the Kirin 9000S which is the last and current chip commercially made released 2 years ago..

China hasn't released a new chip commercially for two years now and despite various claims and promises shows no concrete signs of actually releasing another, more advanced chip.

There are possibly some areas China could improve performance like in packaging and designs related to specific tasks similar to Intel's pipelining but it's unlikely that China can produce a general purpose chip suitable for raw number crunching competitive with TSMC(and nVidia).

The US’ containing policy on China has been the biggest boost for China’s efforts in building a comprehensive domestic supply chain of advanced chips that can rivals any product blocked by the US. The US is already gradually losing its ground and leverage on this war to China and it’s a matter of time for China to catch up and ultimately overtake the US in the chip technologies!😏
