When your "healthcare system" is based on denying care (UH setting the standard by denying 30% of in-network claims) you're going to generate these individual acts of (arguably impotent) barbarism. But to deny that UH is not savaging the lives of tens of thousands is to be complicit in the maintenance of a failed, slowly expiring, late capitalism.

This is an outcome of a creeping crud. Back in the 1970's HMO's and PPO's were just starting to lift off. People tolerated them as "other options" and gradually all the insurances started to adopt their policies and we still tolerated it. This is how these things happen. Got used to it. Normalization of turning the tables so instead of the insurance companies serving the paying customers, the customers were serving the insurance and the insurance was dictating medicine, and whether or not they'd CHOOSE to pay for the care you were insuring yourself for.
Can you imagine going to a restaurant, and paying for a meal in advance expecting to choose from the menu? Then finding out, you can't get your money back and you don't get to choose. The chef decides how much and what you're going to eat if anything? -

UHC is also by the far the biggest insurance provider in number of insured, twice more than the second highest insurer. It is common sense that they have the higher number of claims. I hate when media outlets dothis.
