Unearth the Hidden Treasures of Rare Earth Elements in Korsnäs!

Prospech Limited, a renowned company listed on the ASX as PRS, is excited to share the latest assay results from the ongoing sampling and assaying of the historic Korsnäs drill core. The samples were extracted from holes drilled in the 1950s, 60s, and early 70s, totaling 307 samples from 25 holes. The findings are truly remarkable:

  • Further assay results unveiled from 307 samples across 25 historical drill holes
  • Notable assay results featuring heavy Rare Earth Elements (REEs) such as Terbium (Tb) up to 86 ppm and Dysprosium (Dy) up to 313.4 ppm
  • Highlighted high-grade and broad REE intersections like:
    • KR-272: 11.4m @ 13,383 ppm TREO from 102.7m (NdPrO2 3,982 ppm)
    • SO-187: 17.4m @ 9,798 ppm TREO from 0.0m (NdPrO 3,087 ppm)

The tables showcasing REE Mineralised Zones exceeding 1,000 ppm TREO contain numerous compelling results that demand attention.

Prospech’s Managing Director, Jason Beckon, expressed enthusiasm about the findings at Korsnäs. The project continues to reveal high-grade zones abundant in critical Heavy Rare Earth Elements like dysprosium (Dy) and terbium (Tb). Despite its primary association with magnet REEs such as neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr), the discovery of significant Dy and Tb mineralization presents a significant advantage. These heavy REEs play a vital role in producing robust magnets capable of withstanding high temperatures, essential for applications like electric vehicles, wind turbines, and high-efficiency motors.

Given the current disruptions in the supply chain from China, securing a stable source of these materials is more critical than ever. Prospech aims to fill this gap by positioning itself as a reliable future supplier of magnet critical HREEs. The commitment to thoroughly assess the enriched zones at Korsnäs reflects confidence in the project’s potential and determination to meet the escalating global demand for sustainable energy technologies. By establishing Korsnäs as a secure supply source, Prospech not only addresses immediate industry needs but also plays a pivotal role in fortifying the global rare earth supply chains for the long term.

The Korsnäs project, originally intended as a lead mine, now boasts extensive rare earth element (REE) zones that extend along strike and at depth. The site comprises layered carbonatite zones, each up to 20 meters thick and separated by 50 to 100 meters along the strike. These REE-enriched zones align with gravity anomalies identified as orange ellipses on the plan included in the announcement. So far, five such anomalies have been pinpointed, stretching over a strike length exceeding 5 kilometers.

Diving deeper into REE mineralization, Prospech executed a comprehensive REE sampling program on the historical Korsnäs core housed by GTK in their data facility. The assay results were shared in various ASX announcements throughout the year.

In conclusion, the significant assay results from the ongoing program at Korsnäs underscore the project’s potential and Prospech’s commitment to meeting the escalating global demand for sustainable energy technologies. The company’s focus on rare earth elements and the promising findings herald a future where secure supply chains for essential materials are a top priority in driving sustainable solutions.
