The major point is breaking China's grasp on manufacturing.
Yes, many companies will just shift their production to Vietnam, India, Mexico, etc. but it is a step in the right direction as far as the U.S. is concerned.
Also, keep in mind that China trying to get around the tariffs by moving production to those countries only hurts their economies and the people who reside there.
Even better, imagine if the entire Western hemisphere decided to implement tariffs.

The US and British really think they can continue to rule the world with all the scams and corruption but IMO it will come exactly the opposite and the fall will be harder and faster.

Wishful thinking and sounds easy in theory but in the real world it's totally very different. The biggest loser will be the US businesses and it's consumers.

America has already been preparing for this in this country since 2016. Preparations have been made for years for Vietnam to replace China. We can say this just by looking at the country's booming exports.

You know who else pivoted to Vietnam? China in a big way, and bigger than we did. So while your products may say made in Vietnam they're still made by the same Chinese companies. This is going to be a shitshow.

as long as Vietnam is forced under the same reasoning for the investment that china had but its actually fulfilled this time ill be fine with it other wise we are just creating another enemy of the future.
Vietnam must go democratic within 15 years of this occurring or we will just see another china in the making.

When the war ended Ho Chi Mien reunified the country and gave free land to 20 million peasants. They all have homes, land to grow food and animals and are self sufficient. The children come in the city now to make cash for the farms. If the west would have won the war, they would have to rent land off of landowners giving 90% of their income for rent.

This is a dump way to fool the voter that the gov't is applying high tariffs but at the end the consumers still get the good made in VN but in (CHINA). It is impossible for any country to replicate the ecosystem in design, development and manufacturing the way the Chinese has implemented over the past 20=30 years. It takes a coordinated and focused effort by both the gov't and private organization to focus in building this ecosystem out. Other countries may be able to do this in perhaps down the road but not sure when

For years Chinese manufacturing have moved its manufacturing base into several countries, like Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Mexico and others, in anticipation of possible tariffs and "Made in China" backlash. Putting tariffs cost on any products, only results in higher sales cost, born by the US consumer . The manufacturing operations in Asia is enormous, and in Quandong province alone, there are about 71,000 producing enterprises, making products for every country on the planet. DFI in Vietnam is growing every year together with the skill levels, to attract more foreign business.

vietnam can earn so much with america if they dont cheat americans like what china did in the last 20years. i think vietnam is smart enough to know that. and america will find it out quick if they were being cheated coz they already learned from what happen to china-US relations on trade.

Vietnamese 🇻🇳 and Chinese cultures are very close.
– Even the Forbidden City, a symbol of Chinese civilization in Beijing, was designed by a kidnapped Vietnamese and built by forced laborers from Vietnam. -

International laws are very clear on the South China Sea:
– parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including Vietnam 🇻🇳,
– the rest of it is the international water,
– no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼. -

I happened to be a porcine capitalist living in Asia: stamp made in Vietnam based on criteria but majority of raw goods Vietnam relies on to export to the US at this moment comes from China. Even TSMC of Taiwan which is the crown jewel has the same issue: import pure minerals and metals from China and turn them into chips with US made machineries and then export to the US. Even Biden knows this problem.
And here's the kicker: like baking a pie half way then go to your neighbor to finish off. Vietnam isn't cheaper but more expensive. -

7 out of 10 manufacturers in Vietnam are owned by China. Also, Vietnam rely on China for parts and raw materials. Vietnam will just past the US orders to the Chinese, The seller is preparing your orders. 😅
