Its a good reflection to have for Canada. How can Canada become more valuable to USA in a new world order is the begging question. It is better that Canada has serious discussions with US. These can lead to betterment of Canada. Eg can more US Investments come in strategic areas like Oil or defense or fight against terror. Canada has aging infrastructure issues. Is there something that can be done. It is good to have a healthy discussion without being paranoid. Can Canada position its strength in precious metals that go into making advanced technologies. The new Canada administration will have to consider this as a strategic challenge like how corporations deal with risks and do something special to change the perception professionally. It is a serious question which the CEO of US asking CEO of Canada. If we take it in a different spirit I am sure it will result into somethng better. I hope Canada is actively engaging and not dismissing this as a notion that will fade away on its own. l I am proud of both countries.

All this stuff Trump is saying about Canada, Greenland & the Panama canal is just his standard negotiation tactic. Trump throws a grenade in the room first, and then starts the negotiations. Of course the US is not going to use military force in any of those places. Its merely a negotiation tactic to get them worried prior to the real negotiations starting.
