I don’t begrudge any one of their big government pensions but 80% of your salary is a hell of a deal that’s so much better than Social Security. I don’t think the government should threaten those retirees and future retirees of a pay cut because they can’t figure out a way to keep SS a thriving retirement plan for those who contributed. The government needs to govern properly.

Our economy struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency,
first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and the corporations which grow up
around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the
continent their fathers conquered". Thomas Jefferson 1787 -

I wish our government start careing about their own people instead of giving away taxpayers money to other countries like useless Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan.

Don't talk about the debt if you sought a tax cut from Trump. Wall Street always complains about the debt but loves lower taxes. Who cares about the debt as long as taxes are lower? If Wall Street is truly concerned about the debt, it should stop taking handouts and bailouts.

American inflation and robust economy is built on debt. Remove the trillions of printed money and the economy would crash

Price level, not inflation is the problem. I can even tell you what things are supposed to cost at the grocery store because the prices have become too cartoonish.

No one in politics cares about what the rate is or anything else. They make so much money none of this affects them.

Bill Clinton was the last President to actually reduce the national debt (national debt should always be compared as % of GDP). We're basically ok until it goes over 200% of GDP, right now it is the highest in history hovering around 132% of GDP. Liner Regression models show we have at least another 20 years before it gets anywhere near that… A problem to fix for sure, but it's not "the sky is falling" and historically Republican Presidents have done worse reducing this than Democrats. I say that as a conversative. It's just a fact.

What about just cut government spending on military industrial complex and other agencies. I suggest allowing tax payer to decide how their taxes get spent by adding a form onto the annual tax return with a menu of options so that people can decide where their taxes go.

Drop The Fed!!
They are a Private Bank, they are in no way affiliated with USA.
Congress is supposed to declare value of our monetary system and it is supposed to be attached to a Gold Standard!!! -

I like stories like this that says the fed is actually torn between screwing over the regular people or the govt. They don't give a crap about screwing over the regular people. They will always pick that option without a second thought.

Your so screwed. There's no way back from 35T. It happened to us in the UK after ww2 at a much smaller scale. But the result will be the same. You'll be a country that is half as rich by 2040. You'll lose the reserve currency in the 2030's, the inflation you've exported to the rest of the world through your government printing like imbeciles will come flooding back in. Standard of living will be a nightmare like it was for us in the 50's. It will take half a century to normalise. You had a good run….no empire lasts forever. The Chinese will be taking over. Unless of course you start ww3 to protect your way of life. Which is likely. Just dont forget to invite us.

A simple and elegant fix…. Use our own oil to manufacture fuel to be sold to American consumers only. All profits would go towards paying down the national debt. We would lower the debt on a consistent basis and increase the value of the US dollar worldwide while reducing inflation.

The average American does not pay the taxes associated with what we spend. If they did we would all be living in the streets. The belief we have an independent fed is not true. If so they would refuse to in-debt the American people like several administrations have done.
