Stop buying from these companies buy local from small mom n pop businesses take back our economy

Thats one of the reasons I decided to transition my farm to organic crops- organic tries to be less relient on big companies and big technology, by using cover crops and publicly available seed etc. Adjusted for inflation, us farmers have less take-home pay now than we did 100 years ago. Most of our income goes to fertilizer, seed, fuel, rent, equipment. All big companies with monopolies on the market.

Well stop looking if the candidate has a R or D behind their name and see if they are working for you🤔

Agriculture needs a retroactive turn to localized and diversified production. Otherwise rural America will die.

Every time I hear a public official talk about doing something with antitrust I get my hopes up, then those hopes are dashed by scotus. It's time for this president to expand the size of the Supreme Court, to hell with civility.

Might want to change the wording of the title in relation to the thumbnail. At a cursory glance while scrolling it gives the impression that the gentleman in the picture is a member of the Koch family. Because you titled it “THIS billionaire family”, it psychology connects his image to the family.

The name Koch has become synonymous with greed

If only there was a major corporation that can compete with the existing ones that focuses on providing to the farmers at a competing price and no investors who focused on heavy profits but instead mass sales at any price, like investors who are farmers themselves and wants cheaper fertilizer as well for their own farms, that would solve all of their problems. Even if they have only 1/10th of the amount of the money value yet as much production and control of the fertilizer market like biggest business, it would drive the fertilizer prices down for all of the major fertilizer production businesses as well, since the farmers would only buy from the corporation that intentionally sells at a lower cost yet produces at a large scale.

BUT –ammonia can now be made at a great discount from industrial methods, using affordable benchtop units that only consume air at common factory air pressures. Nearly free ammonia, for everyone in the world who wants it for any use! (2023 U.S. Patent)

Ask for the subsidiary back with interest on the sale of the company. Use that money to startup another fertilizer plant.

the billionaires are looting and starving all of us "american" peons… words and meaning…………….

I don't understand why the voters from both sides of the aisle don't see we "John Q Public" is getting screwed by big corp. across the board. It doesn't what industry.

Question #1: Who did you vote for in the last few elections? Next question: who do the large corporations donate to? Hopefully they realize that the 2025 plan will limit the power of government agencies to regulate much of anything. Therefore, if you have a nitrogen problem now just wait. BTW: there is a growing worldwide shortage of potassium and it’s growing fast. Elections have consequences.

Missing from this propaganda (I don't know how else to describe it} is why this company is for sale in the first place. I assume it is profitable, so why sell Publicly owned?

I keep telling people to STOP this whole Red v Blue crap happening right now! The real leaders, and string pullers are these monopolistic corporations destroying the fair market practices that empowered them. Whenever I talk about issues like this, or Koch industries I get called either; a Trumptard conspiracy theorist OR A cis white hetero-male who doesn't deserve to have a voice. This is a REAL problem that affects any human being who has to eat to live. But no, yeah by all means, let's keep destroying each other over shallow and bigoted reasons, thus allowing the uber wealthy to continue to fleece us. Good job everybody.

One Koch brother is now dead….the other continues to be a major dirtbag POS

While what the Koch family is doing to farmers is bad, but we also ought to grow less corn. It reduces the quality of the soil and is so over-produced it gets heaped in piles to rot at many grain elevators. The production and waste of corn contributes to greenhouse gases tremendously. The Farm Bill USED to pay farmers to grow LESS when the price drops, rather than force them to grow wasted product.

Shades of AT&T. Monopolies have always used their power to manipulate markets but the government does nothing because they're hands are deep in the till. Our country has become a cesspool of corruption.

If a farmer is still using chemical fertilizers to make a living instead of pursuing biomimicry in how Nature has done things for countless 1000s of years, I can't sympathize with them when they want to play the victim. Take personal responsibility and educate yourself.

What isn’t mentioned here is the bigger picture of a small percentage of very rich people in the US buying the farm land the crops are grown on after driving the family farmer owners into bankruptcy via the high cost of seed, fertilizer and farm equipment. Apart from equity in the land, which is used as collateral for loans for seed, fertilizer, equipment and crop insurance most farmers are actually just min. wage or below slaves to bank—until it forecloses on the unpaid loans.

Forget about the four horses of the Apocalypse (if you're religious). Greed is the ultimate evil and will lead to total destruction of this planet and its inhabitants!

Biden isn't doing ANYTHING for farmers. Forced competition, isn't competition. Government subsidies have taught us that. The government needs to keep their nose OUT of the market. Let the prices soar. People will starve, and things will change… because they must. A billionaire's money is useless, with an economy and people to support it. Anyone who thinks the Biden administration is a change for the better, has zero foresight, and hasn't been paying attention.

Can any of you please explain to this Aussie why these rural people continue to vote Republican when that party support big corporations that continue to make life more difficult for rural people?

Get the EPA after Koch for their dry lots. Eco friendly holding pens have grasslands that offset carbon emissions.

    Time for anti trust laws.

Rural Americans keep voting for republicans and this is the outcome.

People get what they vote for. Go Trump and trickle down.

The bribery of congressional reps by big ag and the obfuscation of real problems farmers are having with culture issues. Another point about the bribery; representative graves who represents this particular farmer has never had a candidate forum in years.

Up to the courts eh? But who owns THOSE NOW? MAGA (which is actually the Kochs)

Koch: " The government picks winners and losers therefore it shouldn't be able to regulate how the economy works." My question is: did the government pick your Empire as a winner? Therefore you are willing to possibly become a loser by preventing the government from regulating the economy?

File a lawsuit to stop a merger that gets appealed all the way to SCOTUS which has justices who are already paid Koch lackeys?

    Whats the other option?

    Don't look like he's missing meals…..😏

What about the CF Indrusties? It appears to be the largest company by far? Why not break it up if this is illegal?
It also showed a gross margin of 32% for CF Indrusties in 2023. I don't really see that as particularly high.

This is making America great again?

I wonder if that billionaire is a Trump supporter?
    Do you see a pattern?
    Probably not.

The 2 Koch brothers even screwed over their other brother ! There is a place in hell for both….one is there already !

Iowa should invest in potash mines in Alberta and Saskatchewan and end the monopolies. There’s a never ending supply of fertilizer in these provinces. The more avenues the better.

Doesn't look like this guy is skipping too many meals.

And yet the farming States are solid Republican.. just amazing

Maybe just maybe we should stop growing so much stinking corn. High fructose corn syrup is a major part of why this nation is so sick and obese. Grow grass and graze cattle mimic what nature did with the buffalo. Have to much grass add some sheep. Keep the cattle moving like a migration allowing the grasses to rest. The government needs to stop subsidizing both farmers and mega-corporations. Monocropping is not sustainable for the soil and financially there are to many inputs.

Ahhhhh, the A$$hole Koch brothers, they bought out the DuPont textile division years ago then 9 months later bought Georgia Pacific and 95% of the people after the buyout didn't get ANY RAISES for 5 years !!! They are hated in Ga and elsewhere.

Why is every target of this channel also a target of political leftists? Some of the issues on this channel are very important but when your only real motives are political you make these issues impossible to honestly address. Its like you dont really care or something….

Stopped watching when the beeatch said our food. It's mostly livestock feed.

Perfect use for cover crops, stop adding N to soil that can't take it up and can't give it to the plant.

This video could be made for every industry, strengthen and enforce anti-trust.

    Fertilizers -> massive corn/soyfields -> beef -> cardiovascular diseases -> pharmaceutical profits.

People are digging their own grave with their diet. Koch is just taking advantage of it.
I didnt even mention loss of biodiversity and effects on climate by producing monoculture fields.

If people would go back to crop rotation and regenerative farming, they would be less dependent on big companies and produce healthier food.

Get together and don’t sell cheap, problem solved.

Don't need fertilizer if you take care of the soil.

I used to work for a very large farm in Florida over 14 years ago. I wrote the fertilizer requisitions. The prices jumped a million dollars in one year. I’m no longer working for the farm part anymore, but I can’t see how the prices would have gone anywhere but up!!!!
