Everyone seems to misunderstand what the DoE is.

Louisiana is not a good example to use. Of course test scores are rising, when students no longer receive the grades they actually earn. Back when I was in school, if you didn’t do the work, you got a zero. Now, the lowest grade a student can receive is a 50%, even for incomplete or missing assignments. How does that teach accountability, work ethic, or striving for excellence? This is one of the real reasons school performance appears to be improving on paper, but it’s not a true reflection of learning.
