Black tech Londoner here and I'm proud of him. It's painful watching this because I know someone that could have been as successful as him, maybe more, maybe less, who should have got a similar salon SaaS startup off the ground about the same time they launched Squire. I used to run a digital web agency and he was my second but only client at the time, a black British of Nigerian background. Squire wasn't even on our radar when we were building the app and did a lot of research including in-depth competitor analysis. Not a lot of competitors then and the key player was Treatwell so I guess Squire came later. For reasons unknown till today, the client abandoned the project. I was so passionate about the project, I told him he had a gold mine but he stopped funding the development so I had to lean back at some point.
