Relationship abuse affects a significant number of individuals, with one in four women and one in seven men experiencing it during their lifetimes. In response to this troubling statistic, The Allstate Foundation has been at the forefront of empowering survivors through strategic grants, employee training, and partnerships with relationship abuse organizations for almost two decades. As Domestic Violence Awareness Month takes center stage, The Allstate Foundation proudly showcases its initiatives and collaborations aimed at helping more survivors break free from abuse.
- Advanced Customer-Facing Training: Allstate has collaborated with the National Domestic Violence Hotline to provide tailored training for frontline employees, enabling them to better identify and assist individuals in crisis situations.
-
DV Advocate Conference: The Allstate Foundation has proudly backed a national conference hosted by the National Domestic Violence Hotline in Chicago. This event brings advocates, allies, and survivors together to share knowledge, build connections, and strengthen support networks.

GirlTREK & Ujima Partnership: Teaming up with Ujima and GirlTREK, a leading nonprofit focusing on Black women’s health, The Allstate Foundation is organizing solidarity walks and sharing resources to support survivors and their loved ones. Allstate employees will also participate in the annual Sprint & Stride 5K in solidarity.
-
Supporting survivors in the workplace: A pivotal panel discussion, “Supporting Relationship Abuse Survivors in the Workplace,” hosted by The Allstate Foundation, aims to guide business leaders on creating supportive environments for survivors of domestic violence.
-
A Call to Men Breakfast: This event, held at Soldier Field and sponsored by The Allstate Foundation, aims to challenge harmful societal norms and promote respect and empowerment for all individuals.
-
YWCA Week without Violence: The Foundation supports the YWCA’s annual campaign to combat violence against women and girls by funding 30 local YWCA initiatives, amplifying community efforts to prevent violence.
The Allstate Foundation urges everyone to educate themselves on the signs of abuse and how to support those in crisis. By embracing trust-based philanthropy practices and fostering a strong network of advocates nationwide, we can work together to disrupt the cycle of relationship abuse.
