Shocking: Kallco Guyana’s Roadwork Exposed – You Won’t Believe What Critics Are Saying!

The Ministry of Public Works in Guyana is taking a firm stance on the delays and issues surrounding a significant road improvement project in the country. After an on-site visit by Minister Juan Edghill, complaints from residents have prompted the ministry to take action.

The Guy$1.8 billion project, which includes the construction of a four-lane carriageway, double-lane carriageway, concrete revetments, and two large bridges, is divided into two lots. Lot 8A was awarded to S Jagmohan Construction and General Supplies Inc, while Lot 8B was awarded to Kallco Guyana Inc.

During the site visit, Minister Edghill emphasized the importance of completing the project on time to benefit the surrounding communities and improve the country’s road network system. He expressed disappointment at the lack of progress by contractor Kallco Guyana Inc.

Edghill highlighted the stark difference in progress between the two contractors, noting that Jagmohan appeared to be meeting the project timeline while Kallco was significantly behind. He scheduled a meeting with Kallco to address the issues and determine the way forward.

In response to the situation, a spokesperson for Kallco Guyana, Nizam Persaud, cited weather challenges as a major obstacle for the contractors. Despite the setbacks, operations are ongoing, and Kallco Guyana remains optimistic about meeting the project deadline. Persaud clarified that the operations in Trinidad and Guyana are separate entities with different management structures.

As the Ministry of Public Works prepares to hold a meeting with Kallco Guyana to discuss the project’s progress, it is clear that urgent action is needed to ensure the timely completion of this essential infrastructure development. Cooperation between all parties involved will be crucial in addressing the challenges and delivering the promised road improvements for the benefit of the community.
