Revolutionizing JFK Airport with Lightning-Fast EV Charging Stations! Say Goodbye to Long Waits!

Revel’s Electrifying Expansion in New York City Airports

In an electrifying move, Revel is expanding its electric vehicle charging network in New York City, solidifying its presence in the realm of sustainable transportation. The startup, known initially for its e-moped sharing service, has made significant strides by venturing into an all-electric ride-hail platform and establishing NY’s first EV charging hub. The recent groundbreaking announcement reveals Revel’s installation of 24 EV fast chargers at John F. Kennedy International Airport, effectively doubling the airport’s existing charging capacity.

Partnering once again with New York’s Port Authority, Revel is not only installing fast chargers at JFK but also developing 48 fast charging ports near LaGuardia Airport. Both airport projects are projected to reach completion by 2025.

Key Highlights:

  • The installation will include CCS and NACS chargers at JFK’s west cell phone lot.
  • Both CCS and NACS plugs will allow for charging EVs from 20% to 80% in just 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Revel currently operates four public fast charging stations and is expanding to include five more across NYC.

Revel’s innovative strategy involves deploying ride-hail services alongside its charging stations to ensure optimal utilization. The charging stations are evenly utilized by Revel’s ride-hail drivers and other EV owners, with Revel offering discounts to Uber drivers and collaborating with Toyota and Lexus for free access to the charging infrastructure.

Frank Reig, Revel’s co-founder and CEO, emphasizes the critical role of abundant charging infrastructure near airports in enabling the electrification of rideshare services. With the Port Authority’s support, Revel is poised to set up one of the most frequented fast charging stations in the country at JFK.

Looking Beyond New York:

  • Revel is currently funding the installation of charge ports at JFK and has raised approximately $275 million to date.
  • The startup has active projects in San Francisco and plans to expand to Los Angeles in the coming years.
  • With ambitious plans for over 100 charge ports in the Bay Area, Revel’s commitment to sustainable mobility remains unwavering.

In Conclusion:

Revel’s vision for a greener, more sustainable future through electrified transport is coming to fruition with its expanding network of fast charging stations. By strategically locating chargers near high-traffic areas like airports, Revel is not only facilitating the adoption of EVs but also paving the way for a more sustainable ride-hail ecosystem. Stay tuned as Revel continues to electrify the transportation landscape one charge port at a time.
