Unveiling a New Political Force: Milei’s Vision for Argentina’s Future
Argentine President Javier Milei has made a significant move, launching his political party La Libertad Avanza (LLA) as a nationwide force with the 2025 elections in sight. The event, held at the Parque Lezama amphitheater in Buenos Aires, drew a crowd of enthusiastic supporters who were bussed in, reminiscent of Kirchnerism style.
During the event, Presidential Secretary Karina Milei, Javier’s sister, declared her intention to run for Parliament, emphasizing the need to fill Congress with deputies and senators who will advance laws beneficial to the country. Milei was joined by key supporters, including Cabinet Chief Guillermo Francos, Ministers Luis Toto Caputo, Patricia Bullrich, and Luis Petri, as well as Lower House Speaker Martín Menem.
Despite the palpable energy at the event, Vice President Victoria Villarruel chose to skip it, citing her affiliation with the Democratic Party and disagreement with Milei’s policies, particularly concerning the Falklands/Malvinas issue.
Milei, known for his charismatic presence, captivated the audience with his fiery speeches criticizing journalists and opposition leaders while touting his administration’s achievements. He highlighted the unwavering support of his followers, contrasting them with what he described as corrupt journalists who distort reality. Milei also commended Caputo for implementing significant economic adjustments and praised the work of Bullrich and Petri, who have shifted their allegiance to Milei from Mauricio Macri’s political sphere.
In his impassioned address, Milei condemned the previous administration’s handling of poverty and unemployment, trumpeting his government’s efforts to uplift the needy and drive down poverty rates. He claimed that current government allowances cover 100% of the basic food basket, a stark improvement from the previous regime’s policies.
Looking ahead, Milei expressed confidence in LLA’s future as a potent political force, entrusting his sister with the task of expanding La Libertad Avanza across the country. He foresees a resounding electoral success in 2025, underscoring his ambition to bring about transformative change.
As Milei articulated his vision for a brighter future for Argentina under LLA, he proclaimed confidently, “We are the best government in Argentine history.” With the 2025 elections on the horizon, Milei’s bold leadership and unwavering determination signal a new chapter in Argentina’s political landscape.
