The multi-trillions in debt that our govt has put The US into, I’m afraid, is such that I’m doubtful anything significant can be done to reduce it. The air of unaccountability that permeates the government is and has been, sadly, too entrenched for far too long that I believe it is too late to do anything about it. Someone long ago said that the government would become soooo massive and far reaching that eventually it will implode on itself. That time is coming and nobody and nothing will stop it.
