Blame it on yourself for not upgrading your skills. Go upgrade yourself with your skills futures credits. Just go take an IT course and you can become an IT engineer in just 3 months. Look up and be like those foreigners we bring in who are all talents (that’s why we call them FTs) and be grateful that they are creating good jobs for you.

good interview but cmon cna its the 2020s we can do without the cringey 're-enactment' emo shots of the interviewee acting like he just got retrenched…feels like i went back to the 90s in a time machine sia.

Someone claimed that sg has Full Employment. Yet Skilled Futures? Focus on jobs? ??? I thought no issue right?

That is really lucky find a job so quickly! I am still looking since 2021! What support do you get in Singapore when you are made redundant beside your pay-out for the years you have worked?

And of course I had to support my parents

In my own experience if you are terminated/layoff, the first thing you want to do is find a job asap.
Finding a job can take up to 6 months or more but take note the longer you take to find a job.
It will reflect badly on you as employers will not consider those with long employment gaps.
Avoid investing keep the money and tide until a job comes by.
SG does not have unemployment benefit so you have to save up in case if you are layoff.
Going to TAFEP/TADM is case on case basis, they won't give you unemployment benefit but job referal which may not be helpful for most.
If you have any loan please try to talk to respective department to hold off first.
As mention SG doesn't have unemployment benefit so the cash you have will dry off eventually.
Loans wise SG unlike in other country, you can apply for suspension of account until you have a job.
Here in SG there's no such thing, interest will keep rolling or worse debt collectors will come even though you have no job.
Point here working in SG anyone can be expendable, whether or not you.
You have been with the company or just join you are not spare.
You will have to plan in case if you are layoff as in my experience usually layoff.
Are due to either cost or the boss don't like you, more common reasons are underperformance or age.
Pay attention to signs that you may layoff like boss don't like you, company cutting cost like starting to let go certain employee or
    reducing expenditure etc.
I don't want to share my story cuz my story is different, I left my job due to health issues so I know the ordeal I have to go though
during the many years when i was unemployed.

Leaders need to realize some Singaporeans locals are displaced because of many companies given huge floodgates to hire more foreigners which leads to many societal and economic problems.

when cna needs to broadcast this type of videos it means it is already really really bad out there. more good years ahead for the near 3m foreigners mmmm except own people😡

unemployed for nearly 7months since i decided to do a career switch into tech. now i have to start from scratch at a lower pay…though i'll say tech is more career proof since there are so many roles to apply out there.

    1. Why would you want to be working for people in the long run anyway. 2. Why would CNA interview such a failure to ask for his advice to the public? 3. Anyone who listen to this dude will fail equally as bad because he is not even successful.
