I am a volunteer as St. Vincent. His words have resulted to death threats to my brothers and sisters in Springfield. St. Vincent's volunteers are a community of dedicated individuals who seek to help their fellow man and woman without distinction, as instructed by the Gospel. We are peaceful people who labor quietly and without pay, our only reward being the camaraderie of like minded people, the possibility of getting some objects at the set prices, and a yearly dinner party.
Most of us are Catholics – though other faiths are welcome in our midst. I understand that Vance is Catholic. He should reflect on the damage he inflicted on fellow Catholics, repent from his grave sin, and rectify his words.
