- Setting up a Payee: To make a payment, simply set up a Payee on the First Citizens mobile app. This step ensures a seamless process when it comes to managing your property tax payments.
- Payment Process: First Citizens announced, "Effective from Wednesday, 30th October 2024, customers can pay their property tax via the First Citizens Online Banking and Mobile App." This makes it incredibly convenient for individuals to handle their tax obligations from the comfort of their homes.
- Deadline Extension: The government has also extended the deadline for property tax payments to November 29, 2024. Additionally, the Board of Inland Revenue has been given until October 31, 2024, to issue Notices of Assessment. Finance Minister Colm Imbert assured that those who haven’t received updated property tax assessments will not face penalties.
- Revised Assessments: Citizens are reminded that only the revised assessments, based on the two per cent charge, are valid. The Ministry is committed to exploring other forms of payment for property tax and will keep the public updated on any new developments.
