Exciting Update: ICE Announces New Encompass SDK Transition Timeline!

ICE Mortgage Technology is offering clients a generous grace period for transitioning from legacy Software Development Kit (SDK) technology to the API-based platform on Encompass. This extension, initially set for October 31, 2025, aims to support clients in migrating their code seamlessly to a more modern architecture without incurring additional charges.

After engaging extensively with clients, ICE Mortgage Technology took heed of the importance of efficiency and borrower experience. The company emphasized its commitment to delivering an API-first, cloud-based platform that enhances performance and reduces latency, replacing outdated legacy systems. Early adopters of the API-based solutions have reported financial benefits, with an average saving of $149 per loan according to an independent study. The transition to API calls has shown significant speed improvements over SDK calls, resulting in substantial monthly savings on CPU and server maintenance for clients across the board.

Acknowledging the feedback from customers who expressed the need for a more gradual shift towards APIs, ICE Mortgage Technology is facilitating a smoother transition by providing support and delaying the hard cutoff dates for SDK functionalities. The company values collaboration during this transitioning period and is dedicated to helping clients navigate the process efficiently.

To continue using SDK beyond October 31, 2025, clients will need to sign up for transitional SDK access, with a cost of $0.50 per unit starting in May. The revised timeline sets a clear sunset date of April 30, 2027, allowing ample time for clients to prepare and transition successfully. ICE Mortgage Technology recognizes the complexity and effort involved in this transition and offers a six-month grace period post-October 2025 as a gesture of support, ensuring a collaborative approach to the sunsetting process.

In addition to the SDK transition, ICE Mortgage Technology is also concluding its legacy CRM system and fully transitioning to the modern Surefire technology, aligning its platforms to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

This proactive and client-centric approach by ICE Mortgage Technology emphasizes the importance of a smooth transition to modern technology, ensuring that clients are well-supported throughout the process. Embracing the benefits of API-based platforms, clients can look forward to enhanced efficiency, cost savings, and improved borrower experiences in the long run.
