Escape the Pixel Prison: Once You Enter, There’s No Way Out

Escape the Pixel Prison: Once You Enter, There’s No Way Out

In October 2017, Google set the tech world abuzz by unveiling the Pixel 2 XL. The moment I laid eyes on this sleek device, I knew I had to have it. Little did I know that my quest to procure this coveted phone would turn into a saga of patience, perseverance, and a not-so-insignificant dent in my wallet.

Here’s how it all went down:

  • After numerous unsuccessful attempts to purchase the panda version of the Pixel 2 XL from the Google Store, I switched gears and resorted to Amazon.
  • Unfortunately, the panda version was out of stock, so I settled for the more understated black variant.
  • To make matters more complicated, the Google Store refused to accept my Lebanese credit card, forcing me to jump through hoops to get my hands on the phone.
  • I had the phone shipped to a US forwarding address to navigate the labyrinth of shipping and import fees to get it to Lebanon finally.

The entire process cost me an additional $300 and several weeks of waiting, but when that sleek Pixel 2 XL finally landed in my palm, all the trials and tribulations faded into the background. The vibrant display and sleek design of the phone were unparalleled, and the camera quality surpassed anything I had ever experienced on an Android device.

In the end, the unforgettable journey to procure my beloved Pixel 2 XL was worth every penny, every obstacle, and every moment of anticipation. The best things in life are worth waiting for, and for me, the Pixel 2 XL was one of those things.
