Discover which US carriers offer high-definition streaming! 📱🔥

With the evolution of mobile data plans in the US over the past decade, unlimited plans have become increasingly popular. However, not all unlimited data plans are created equal. Many carriers restrict high-speed data after a certain threshold or cap streaming quality, making it essential for consumers to choose wisely when selecting a plan. If you’re looking for mobile plans that offer no streaming throttle or the option to adjust quality settings, you’re in luck. There are several options available in both the postpaid and prepaid segments of the market.

Networks Offer Higher-Quality Streaming Options

Even though major carriers in the US typically stick to SD streaming for most plans, there are exceptions at the higher end of the scale:

  1. Verizon:

    • Verizon Unlimited Ultimate provides up to 4K resolution on 5G UW, while limiting streaming to HD (1080p) on LTE or standard 5G.
    • Verizon Unlimited Plus offers HD (720p) streaming by default, with 4K available on 5G UW.
  2. AT&T:

    • AT&T Unlimited Premium PL allows completely unthrottled streaming across its entire 4G LTE and 5G network.
  3. T-Mobile:
    • T-Mobile Go5G Plus and Go5G Next both offer 4K UHD streaming.

Prepaid Options with Better Streaming Quality

While many prepaid providers cap streaming at SD quality, there are exceptions:

  • AT&T Prepaid Max and Unlimited Plus Max allow disabling of video throttling for 4K streaming.
  • Metro by T-Mobile offers an HD video upgrade for $10 per month on various plans.
  • Cricket enables users to remove throttling with default streaming at 480p until adjusted manually.

Consider Using a VPN

For those whose carrier does not support higher streaming rates over cellular data, a VPN may be an option. While a VPN can bypass carrier restrictions and improve privacy, it may also experience compatibility issues with streaming services and slow down internet speeds.

My Recommendations Based on Experience

Considering my experience, here are my recommendations across major carriers:

  • Verizon: Verizon Unlimited Unlimited Plus or Ultimate are suitable for those needing high-quality streaming.
  • AT&T: AT&T Prepaid Unlimited Max is a great budget option for higher streaming quality.
  • T-Mobile: T-Mobile Prepaid Unlimited and Unlimited Plus offer 720p HD, while postpaid options like Go5G provide 4K streaming.

In conclusion, it’s important to select a mobile plan that aligns with your streaming needs to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. Explore the options available from the major carriers and consider using a VPN cautiously to enhance your streaming quality.
