Buyer Beware! Angie's List supports fraudulent businesses! I had a take-and-run contractor I found on Angie's List, and reported them when they took my money but didn't finish the work. Angie's List never investigated, and allowed them to keep listing their business on the website. It was only when I complained that they matched me with another contractor – which turned out to be the same one from before using a different name after I and others gave them their deserved bad reviews! I found that they had at least four different business names on the Angie's List website. When I reported Angie's List to the Better Business Bureau to address this, Angie's List closed my account. They do not care about consumers.

I am disappointed that CNBC is promoting this company as a success. They have been sued several times and paid multi-million dollars in government fines for their fraudulent practices. I wonder if they paid off CNBC to do this feature, and if they did, I wouldn't be surprised.
