A Tribute to a Football Legend: Join us for Ricardo Gibson’s Celebration of Life Tomorrow!

In the hearts of the National Sports Council and Parish Land football community, a legend has left us. Ricardo O’Brian Gibson, fondly known as “Mickey,” has passed away at the age of 55, leaving behind a legacy that will echo through the generations.

  1. A Coach and Mentor:
Mickey was not just a football coach; he was a mentor who nurtured countless students and made a profound impact on many lives. His guidance and wisdom will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

  2. A Beloved Family Man:
Beyond his role as a coach, Mickey was a beloved family man. He was the loving husband of Deborah Callender-Gibson, the devoted father of Krystle Gibson, and the cherished stepfather of Nathan and Jadan Callender. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, as well as his grandchildren Krystiana Depeiza and Trey Jarvis.

  3. A Community Figure:
Mickey’s influence extended beyond his immediate family to the wider community. He was a brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many, forming deep connections that enriched the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of the Gibson, Yarde, Best, and Maloney families, as well as countless friends and colleagues from the football fraternity.

  4. Celebration of Life:
A thanksgiving service to celebrate the life and work of Ricardo O’Brian Gibson will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Christ Church Parish Church. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 2:30 pm for the service, followed by the interment at Christ Church Cemetery. Floral tributes and offerings in Ricardo’s memory will be gratefully accepted.

In closing, as we bid farewell to Mickey, let us remember the lessons he taught us and the lives he touched. May his legacy inspire us to be kind, compassionate, and dedicated in all that we do. Rest in peace, Coach Mickey, your spirit will forever be with us.
