In my humble opinion, Nvidia should not suffer from this situation—in fact, quite the opposite. This is due to the following three reasons:
1. The H800 GPUs used for DeepSeek are expected to see a significant price increase in the coming days. As a reminder, these relatively recent GPUs are already priced between $30,000 and $40,000 per unit, depending on the version.
2. The open-source code of DeepSeek, once optimized and tested on Nvidia's next-generation Blackwell chips, is likely to deliver even more impressive performance.
3. Once the open-source code of DeepSeek V3 is analyzed by competitors—such as Watsonx AI, Google DeepMind, Mistral AI, xAI, Anthropic, Contextual AI, Cohere, Hugging Face, Baidu AI, and MetaAI—a renewed technological arms race will undoubtedly ensue. This development will inevitably benefit Nvidia, the supplier of the most advanced technology available today.Furthermore, the timing of the DeepSeek announcements appears to reflect a calculated maneuver by the Chinese government. The first announcement was made on Christmas Day, followed by another during the Chinese New Year weekend—this can hardly be a coincidence.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this initiative turns out to be yet another imitation orchestrated by China, accompanied by dubious claims regarding the resources deployed and the actual costs involved. That said, I fully understand the instinctive disdain some may harbor toward the United States and its tech giants. However, until proven otherwise, the U.S. remains far ahead in terms of scientific expertise and financial resources.

Meanwhile, Great China took only two months and 5 Million to get it done, much BETTER and free.

Open-source is always more trustworthy and reliable compared to closed-source tech.

Instead of seeing China as an adversary, how about seeing it as a partner and work together to better mankind? Why does USA always so jealous and vindictive and racist of China? Jealous much?

A few people doing something for a paycheck will never be able to outperform a bunch of people doing the same thing because they're bored.

As an investor I am worried that advancements in Chinese technology could lead to increased competition for companies in the U.S. and other countries, potentially impacting market shares and profitability. Additionally, geopolitical tensions and regulatory concerns surrounding technology transfer and intellectual property rights have further fueled uncertainty. my concern is that it might affect the stock market.
