By focusing on the level of control companies exert over workers, rather than technicalities like substitute use, a more inclusive and efficient system can be devised.

The ongoing debate regarding gig economy worker rights is a crucial one that demands attention. By amplifying the voices of those directly affected by these policies, we can pave the way for meaningful change. With the right reforms, even the most marginalized workers can find security and stability in their employment status.
