Rather than hitting the trail to boost energy, Harris made an unexpected return to Washington after the conclusion of the Chicago event. In a sassy reply to a reporter inquiring about her plans for the weekend, Harris playfully joked, "What’s next? We’re going to walk up those stairs." Surprisingly, she doesn’t intend to commence campaigning until Wednesday.
On the other hand, former President Donald Trump, the challenger, held a rally where he received an endorsement from Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent candidate who halted his campaign. Another rally in Michigan is scheduled for Tuesday. Although Democratic pollster John Zogby gave the week an "A" due to the favorable convention and Biden’s seamless handoff to Harris, conservative Jed Babbin rated the week an "F," criticizing the convention for not addressing serious issues and being perceived as a clown show.

The reluctance to address pertinent issues and the focus on unrelated topics like the disproportionate spending disparity between defense and diplomacy highlights the direction of the current administration, leaving much to be desired in terms of effective governance.
