Seeking Moving Advice,
So, I thought I had everything sorted with two UHaul U-boxes to move, but surprise surprise – they didn’t fit everything! We’ve got 5 boxes, a chest, a standing desk, and a bike left behind. It’s a mess, thanks to the movers we hired who clearly have no clue about packing. Anyways, that’s a whole other saga.
Now, I’m stuck with these items and not sure how to get them to my new place. Shipping the boxes via USPS seems doable, but what about the rest? I really don’t want to sell or give away stuff when I need it, and my new job is supposed to cover my moving expenses. But if I ditch these things now, I’ll end up spending my own money to buy them again later.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Help a desperate soul out!
Thanks a bunch,
The Moving Dilemma.
Response from THE MOVING DIARIES:
Hello There,
I understand the frustration you must feel after dealing with the mishap during your moving process, but rest assured, there are practical solutions to address the items left behind. To start, shipping the boxes via USPS is a viable option for those items. As for the remaining items such as the chest, standing desk, and bike, renting a small moving van or reaching out to a local moving company for a small-scale move might be the way to go.
Consider looking into local moving companies that offer services for moving smaller loads. They may have options suited for the items you have left. Additionally, renting a moving truck for a day could also provide a cost-effective solution for transporting the remaining items to your new home.
It’s understandable that you want to avoid repurchasing these items. However, considering the reimbursement from your new job for moving costs, investing in the transportation of these items may be a more economical choice in the long run. Plus, it eliminates the hassle of having to replace essential belongings later.
Overall, exploring these practical moving options will help ensure that your belongings reach your new home safely and efficiently without having to part ways with items you need. Best of luck with the rest of your move!
Warm Regards,
THE MOVING DIARIES
